New study about eHealth strategies in Europe
“Europe is the global leader in nation-wide implementation of eHealth solutions” summed up Dr. Karl Stroetmann (empirica) the results of the study “Monitoring National eHealth strategies”. The study was presented during a workshop in Brussel. Nils Dardemann participated for the eHealth for Regions network.
The study "Monitoring National eHealth strategies" shows that all member states have already started implementing eHealth infrastructures in their countries. The goal of these efforts is to give medical experts access to central patient information wherever they are needed.
The participants of the workshop were also given inside information on good practices of eHealth strategies. The implementation of eHealth structures in rural areas and for chronically sick people as well as electronically prescriptions are in the focus of many strategies.
The eHealth for Regions network intends to support the implementation of European and national eHealth strategies in the Baltic Sea Area.
