Baltic Sea Region: Annual Forum in Tallinn
From the 14th till the 15th October the first Annual Forum of the Baltic Sea Region was held in Tallinn to discuss the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region after one year of implementation. Domantas Stundys participated for the eHealth for Regions network.
The objective of the Annual Forum was to meet the stakeholders after one year of implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and have a constructive dialogue on the results and successes, as well as areas that needs improvement.
After the discussions we can conclude that the Strategy is actively addressing the relevant problems and potentials of the region. But there have also been some concerns about
- the problematic alignment of funding,
- the distance from grassroots regional input
- and the need for more involvement of the private sector.
The results of the forum will be integrated in the work plan of the Strategy for 2011.
