"ICT for Health" project: kick-off meeting in Flensburg

On the 4th/5th February nineteen partners got together at the University of Applied Sciences in Flensburg to initiate the new Interreg IV B – Project “ICT for Health”. eHealth-Experts from eight countries of the Baltic Sea Region discussed possibilities of strengthening social capacities to use eHealth technologies in the framework of an ageing population. This is a basic condition for the implementation of innovative technologies to solve present and predictable problems in the health sector.  more »

Cross-Border Breast Health Project: Pilot-Run starts in February!

The pilot-run in the "Breast Health" project is a trial to validate the technical ability of sending patient´s data across the danish-german border. The test run will focus on screening. During the period between February and March 2010, 100 screening pictures will be sent by clinicians from the University Hospital in Odense/Denmark through the PACS server to the participating german clinicians in Flensburg and Kiel.
In March, the clinicians from both regions will meet in order to exchange their experiences.

Region Skåne develops distributed medical multidisciplinary conferences

In the Region Skåne a new project for the implementation of virtual multidisciplinary conferences has now started. Two conference rooms will be established at the university hospitals in Malmö and Lund. Participants from other hospitals will be able to take part per distance via a multi-conference unit.  more »

Invitation to Virtual Seminar on Home Care – Challenges for E-Health

The eHealth for Regions network organises a seminar series on “Ageing population and increase of chronic diseases: Need for personalized healthcare”. On 7th of October 2009 Jaakko Kontturi (Director of Home Care, City of Seinäjoki, Finland) will speak about Home Care – Challenges for E-Health. The seminars will take place by video conference in English language connecting participants from five countries. Participation is free of charge. More information about the seminars.

“ICT for Health” Interreg application approved

In Oslo the INTERREG IVB Monitoring Committee approved the Project ICT for Health. The overall objective of this project is that “Citizens with chronic diseases and medical professionals in the regions of the project partners have the social capacity, knowledge and acceptance to utilise eHealth technologies in prevention and treatment by the year 2012”.  more »

Experts of the European Commission set priorities for 2009

The expert group of the European Commission, the Health Systems Working Party (HSWP), met on November 20 - 21, 2008 in Luxembourg. Thorsten Beck (AOK Schleswig-Holstein, Statutory Health Insurance, Germany) was invited by the Directorate General for Health and Consumer Protection (DG Sanco) as representative of the eHealth for Regions Network to attend this meeting.  more »

EU application on breast health project approved

Another project in the frame of the INTERREG 4A-Program Syddanmark-Schleswig-K.E.R.N. is approved: “Cross-border collaboration on Breast Health: Prevention, examination and treatment of breast cancer in Denmark and South Schleswig-Holstein”. The project will start in November 2008; lead partner is Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany.  more »

Baltic Conference on E-Health 2008

The 2nd Baltic Conference on E-Health will take place on 26th of September 2008 in Hamburg under the patronage of Ulla Schmidt, German Federal Minister of Health. This cross sector forum for healthcare providers offers all guests coming from various Baltic countries the opportunity to exchange views and experiences about E-Health. The attendees will include representatives from hospitals, governments, health insurance organisations, service providers and media.  more »

The fifth eHealth Conference will take place on 9th and 10th of September 2008 in Kiel. The conference "eHealth's rolling out - Qualität, Effizienz und Akzeptanz unter Praxisbedingungen" will focus on concrete ways to realise eHealth projects. Tenth Meeting of the Working Party on Health Systems

The expert group of the European Comission, the Health Systems Working Party (HSWP), met up on 15 – 16 July 2008 in Luxembourg. Interreg-Application "ICT for health" submitted

On 30th of May, the project partners submitted the project application "ICT for health in regions with ageing population and for chronically sick people" within the Interreg IV B Baltic Sea Region programme. Decisions about approval of application will be taken on 24th of October 2008.

The second meeting of the Executive Steering Committee (ESC) took place 14th and 15th April 2008 in Lund, Sweden. The members discussed the outlines of the network website in progress and the status of the projects under the umbrella of the eHealth for Regions network.  more »
